Spokesperson Saurav Das said India Gate has hosted historic protests and belongs to the people. He linked the event to the group’s “School Thik Karo” campaign, which aims to audit school facilities. Critics argue that holding a protest at the war memorial, close to the upcoming BRICS Summit, could cause chaos and harm India’s image. The group has rejected accusations of political ties and vowed to continue its campaign.

FDA Cancels Cipla Unit’s Drug Sales Licences in Pune Over Violations Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cancelled the drug sales licences of Cipla Pharma & Life Sciences’ Carry and Forwarding unit in Pune’s Wadki area, effective August 27. Inspectors found unauthorised promotional claims on Reactin Plus tablets, which were labelled as an “analgesic and antipyretic.” They also noted poor storage practices, including medicines kept on the floor, stock discrepancies and improper handling of expired drugs. The action followed a June raid, during which officials seized stock worth ₹11.19 lakh and ordered a recall that the company did not fully follow. FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe stressed zero tolerance for violations that endanger public health. Cipla contested the order, saying there were no issues with product safety or quality. The action applies only to this facility as part of a broader push for tighter oversight in drug distribution.

Drones Airlift Stranded Residents from Flood-Hit Areas in Southern China During July floods triggered by Typhoon Maysak in southern China’s Guangxi region, more than 400 volunteer pilots operated over 300 DJI heavy-lift drones, including the FC200 model. The drones first delivered food, water and medicine to isolated villages. They then evacuated people from rooftops where boats could not reach.
