Delhi Police Assault Claims, Maggi Safety Experiment Fact Check

Two women journalists from 4PM News Network have accused Delhi Police personnel of assaulting them while they covered the inauguration of a new wing at Max Hospital in Saket. The event was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Shaheen Khan and Nafisa Khan alleged that police detained them and intensified the assault after hearing Shaheen’s surname. They were reportedly taken to Saket Police Station, where videos allegedly showed visible injuries. The news network has demanded CCTV footage and action against the officers. Congress leaders and journalist groups condemned the incident, while Delhi Police has not yet responded.

The Maggi experiment also raises questions about methodology: freshly cooked, hot food may not attract insects immediately, and a microscope slide may introduce contamination. Visible microorganisms or particles do not automatically indicate danger, since many foods naturally contain microbes. Proper testing requires controlled samples, sterile equipment and laboratory analysis. Therefore, the experiment alone cannot prove that Maggi is unsafe or that ordinary food contains harmful “creepy crawlies.”
