Nepal Tunnel Rescue, IndiGo Srinagar Incident & ISRO EOS-05 Launch

Two workers were rescued alive after spending nine days trapped inside Nepal’s Upper Trishuli 3A hydropower tunnel in Rasuwa district. Mechanical foreman Sanjay Sah and mechanical supervisor Kabir Maharjan became trapped after a glacier collapse on August 26, which reportedly killed more than 1,200 people and left thousands missing. Rescuers carried one worker on their back and moved the other on a stretcher before airlifting both to Kathmandu for medical treatment. Nepali Army and Armed Police teams, supported by specialists from India and China, reportedly heard more voices underground. Rescue operations continue amid international assistance from India, Pakistan, NVIDIA and actor Sonu Sood.

IndiGo Flight Hits Parking Pole at Srinagar Airport IndiGo flight 6E225, an Airbus A321neo, struck a Visual Docking Guidance System pole while parking at Bay No. 6 of Srinagar International Airport around 9:02 a.m. on Friday. The aircraft landed normally before the incident damaged its nose. No passenger suffered injuries, and airport staff helped everyone deboard using manual stairs. IndiGo grounded the aircraft for inspection and maintenance and informed the authorities. Airport operations continued without disruption, while officials launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

ISRO Launches EOS-05 Satellite into Geosynchronous Orbit The Indian Space Research Organisation successfully launched the 2,367-kilogram EOS-05 satellite from Sriharikota on September 4. The mission placed the satellite precisely into its intended geosynchronous orbit after an eight-month launch gap. Positioned around 36,000 kilometres above Earth, EOS-05 will repeatedly observe large areas and provide near-real-time data for disaster management, agriculture, forestry and water resources. ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan praised the accurate orbital injection, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the achievement a proud moment for India. The mission also strengthens national self-reliance and encourages partnerships with the domestic space industry.
