India News: AIIMS Delhi Death Probe, Ram Mandir Cheque Row & Nepal Flood Relief

The father of a 15-year-old girl who died after alleged delays in treatment at AIIMS Delhi has demanded a thorough inquiry and strict action. Mukesh Pariyani said he first took his daughter to the hospital in 2012 and completed several tests and procedures over the following years. Although doctors allegedly collected blood and money for surgery in 2014, the operation was repeatedly postponed. Pariyani claimed that a doctor later refused to operate unless he withdrew a complaint filed with the Prime Minister’s Office. Despite further tests and hospital visits in 2018, 2023 and 2025, the surgery never took place. His daughter died in 2026. He is seeking justice and accountability.

The Ram Mandir Trust has made an excellent decision. Appointing retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as its CEO shows that the temple trust is in capable hands and is determined to operate with complete transparency in the future. For this position, choosing a retired Army officer is a much better option than appointing other retired officials. And that is exactly what has happened. A donor publicly handed two cheques worth ₹4 crore and ₹10,000 to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. However, when the cheques were deposited, the bank found insufficient funds in the donor’s account. The account did not even contain enough money to honor the ₹10,000 cheque. The trust is currently not inclined to file an FIR in the matter.

Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood visited Nepal’s worst-affected areas along the Trishuli River to support victims of the flash floods. He distributed blankets, food and other relief supplies through the Sood Charity Foundation and met families in Trishuli Bazar and Nuwakot. Sood also promised long-term assistance for rebuilding homes and supporting recovery. India sent several Air Force flights carrying relief materials and rescue teams, prompting appreciation from Nepal’s Prime Minister. Meanwhile, Nepal’s Foreign Minister has sought climate compensation from major carbon emitters through the United Nations, linking the disaster to the growing risks of climate change.
