Republican gubernatorial nominee Byron Donalds has pledged to continue Florida’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative launched under Governor Ron DeSantis. Donalds said Florida needs limited government that respects hardworking taxpayers and promotes affordability. He promised to expand the programme across every state agency and local government if elected governor. His plan focuses on reducing government waste, improving accountability and protecting taxpayer money. Donalds secured the Republican nomination while presenting himself as a candidate committed to fiscal discipline and administrative reform. He said his proposed DOGE expansion would bring greater efficiency to Florida’s public institutions and strengthen confidence in government spending.

A road near Gorakund Square in Indore collapsed on Monday during testing of a new 24-hour water-supply pipeline. The road formed part of a ₹40 crore Smart City project completed three years ago. It cracked, flooded and sank, creating a large pit that municipal workers quickly barricaded. Indore Municipal Corporation member Rajendra Rathore demanded a high-level inquiry into repeated repairs and the quality of wider ₹1,000 crore Smart City projects. Food safety teams have destroyed large quantities of adulterated paneer, milk and ghee in raids across India. In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, officials destroyed 500 kilograms of fake paneer and 2,000 litres of adulterated milk from an illegal unit. They also seized chemicals, including Tinopol and soybean oil. Unitree has unveiled its “Superman” humanoid robot, which reportedly reaches 12.66 metres per second and performs a two-metre standing high jump. Developed in just over three months, the robot demonstrates remarkable speed, explosive power and agility in videos filmed on an indoor track. Its performance appears to surpass known human records in sprinting and standing jumps, highlighting the mechanical advantages of advanced robotics. The Hangzhou-based startup revealed the robot ahead of its planned listing on China’s Shanghai STAR Market. Unitree has already delivered thousands of robots, underscoring its rapid growth and expanding role in China’s competitive robotics industry.

Tata Sons’ annual general meeting was adjourned after representatives from the Tata Trusts failed to attend, leaving the company without the required quorum.
